DIRECTIONS
Enjoy this versatile low carb marinara with baked meatballs and low-carb or shirataki pasta, as well as sautéed zucchini, onions, and peppers. Each serving of basic tomato sauce is 1/2 cup.- Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Dice the white onion, celery and garlic; add to pan and saute until the vegetables are very soft, about 6 minutes. Add basil and cook, stirring, 30 seconds.
- Stir in tomatoes. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, partially covered, until thickened, about 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot
