Atkins Net Carbs = Total Carbohydrates – Fiber – Sugar Alcohols/Glycerin (if applicable)
×INGREDIENTS
-
3 Keto Bread
-
1 1tsp Canola Oil
-
2 large Egg
-
2 tbsp Heavy Cream
-
0 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
-
0 1/8 tsp Nutmeg (Ground)
DIRECTIONS
Use the Atkins recipe to make Low Carb Bread for this recipe, you will need 3 thick/normal slices cut into 2 for a total of 6 slices (see below).
- Slice 3 thick pieces of Low Carb Bread into 2 thinner slices. Set aside. Preheat a non-stick skillet with the oil over medium-high heat.
- Whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, cinnamon and nutmeg in a shallow bowl.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, turning to coat both sides. Once coated evenly, place in the hot skillet and repeat with 1 or two more slices of bread to fill the pan; be sure it is not over crowded. Cook 3-4 minutes per side until golden. Place on a serving plate and repeat with the remaining bread and egg mixture. Top with butter and serve with sugar-free maple syrup if desired.
Cooking Tip
We created this recipe before commercially available keto bread was widely available, but you can absolutely skip the bread making step and use a keto bread from the grocery store. Aim to find a keto bread with 1g or fewer net carbs per slice to match the net carbs displayed for this recipe. If the bread you use has more net carbs per slice, just make that correction in net carbs for tracking purposes.
