My Favorite Atkins-Friendly and Delicious Thanksgiving Treats

November 20, 2014

Thanksgiving is less than a week away and I don't know about you but I'm excited to be spending time with my family and of course all the fabulous food!

Most people think it's totally impossible to be on Atkins during Thanksgiving, but between you and me…..they're wrong! There are now so many delicious and healthy recipes that you can make for your Thanksgiving dinner so let’s take a moment to dig out our Atkins cookbooks and get started.

Here are a few of the delicious treats that will be at the Osbourne Thanksgiving table:

Savory Turkey With Gravy
No Thanksgiving meal would be complete without turkey, and luckily on Atkins, you don’t need to deny yourself. This bird is stuffed with tons of Atkins-friendly veggies - carrots, celery, and onions and is drizzled with the homemade gravy. This turkey tastes so heavenly you'll never want to go back to your pre-Atkins ways.

Cauliflower Mashed Potatoes
I used to think that any Thanksgiving dinner would not be complete without mashed potatoes but for someone on Atkins their diet can be put in jeopardy with so many carbs. So let’s swap out the mashed potatoes this year and replace it with a mixture of pureed cauliflower and fat free sour cream. I promise you that nobody will notice the difference. All I can tell you is that Ozzy just loves this cauliflower-sour cream mash recipe.

Green Beans Almandine
They always say it’s so important to get greens in every single day and these green beans melted with butter and sliced almonds satisfy your taste buds while keeping you on track with your plan. And, the preparation is so easy. Just heat the almonds and green beans in a skillet and add black pepper to taste. View the full recipe.

Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake
Did you save room for dessert? A perfect Thanksgiving meal is just not complete without the sweets (I LOVE them)! This Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake is not only to-die-for, but also Atkins-friendly. The best part about this delicious after dinner treat is that nobody will be able to tell that the crust is made of pecans, sugar substitute and cinnamon.

What Atkins-friendly recipes are you whipping up in the kitchen this year? Tell me everything! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving filled with love and laughter and remember: don’t deny yourself, its Thanksgiving! I am SO thankful for each and every one of you.

All My Love,
Sharon
