From age 16-29 I was grossly overweight, I hated exercised and I ate terribly. I would eat one large meal a day and that would be it. I was never happy with how I looked but I never had the drive to diet because I couldn’t find a diet that suits what I like to eat. I was 29 when I started Atkins, I was never able to find a diet that let me eat the foods I love, meat! So I decided to give Atkins a shot. At first I had some reservations because I didn’t think that eating meats would help me lose weight. Within one month I lost 20 lbs and I was a believer. A lot of people I knew at the time didn’t think I could stick to the diet and said I would gain it all back. That was the motivation I needed. It has been 9 months since I reached 175 lbs and I’ve maintained that weight ever since. Today I’m a changed person, I look great, I feel great and I have all the energy and confidence in the world. There are so many things I can do now that I couldn’t before. Without Atkins I would not be where I am today.
I was in a 44 inch waist and a 3x shirt. My goal was to be able to buy clothes in any store I wanted. I now wear a 33 inch waist and medium shirts. Before I couldn't walk half a mile without tiring out, now I can walk 10 miles like it's nothing. I wanted to feel better about myself and now I have all the confidence in the world. My biggest goal is now to maintain my weight and tone my body.
How Atkins Helped Get Me There: Atkins helped by letting me eat the foods I love. I love red meats such as steak and hamburger so it was easy to follow. Also the Atkins bars help immensely they are a permanent part of my diet and help curb my appetite and they actually taste great! I never feel like I'm eating food that I don't enjoy.
