I’m Italian and used to eat 3 plates of spaghetti and bread at one sitting, every Sunday, ate pretzels for breakfast, inhaled beets by the can during the day, and then wondered why I looked the way I did. How Atkins Helped Get Me There: Someone at work gave me the Atkins book to read, ""The New Diet Revolution."" I lost 47 lbs over a 2-year period and still to this day, continue to follow the Atkins principals. I don’t eat the high starch veggies, nor do I eat any flour products, i.e. bread, spaghetti. The worst experience the whole time I’ve been on the program was in the very beginning – eating a cheeseburger and hot dog, without a roll. But I’m used to it now. Wait until you see the difference!!
